Yes, Institute of Genetic Engineering is UGC approved. Also, the Institute of Genetic Engineering is a NAAC accredited with "A". The institute offers 10 UG and 3 PG level courses in affiliation with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). The institute focuses on providing quality education to the students that’ll not only help them to clear exam and obtain the degree but to perform well in the industry.

The institute pays special focus to the placements of the students and prepares them not only for the theoretical exam but also for the interviews and for the real implementation while working in the industry.

To get admission to BSc in Medical Laboratory in IGE, candidates should have passed class 12 with Science stream from a recognised board. Eligible candidates can directly apply to the institute’s official website. Candidate should also submit the required documents, without which the application is not complete.

Candidates should have a graduation degree in life sciences or physical sciences (hons. or equivalent). Candidates who have done BTech in Biotechnology can also apply for the same programme. Candidates who meet the eligibility can directly apply to the institute’s website.

Candidates who wants to pursue BMLT from IGE have to pay INR 2.5 Lacs as course fee + additional university examination charges. Course fees for BSc Medical Imaging Technology and BSc in Genetics is also INR 2.5 Lakh. Students pursuing BSc in Media Science at IGE, BSc in Microbiology and BBA in Hotel Management have to pay the course fee of INR 2.1 Lakh. Course fees for MSc in Genetics and MSc in Biotechnology is INR 1.9 Lacs and for MSc in Microbiology fees is INR 2.1 Lakh.

IGE campus does not have a hostel facility for both male and female students. However, there is one hostel for female students which is very near to the campus. The hostel facility is under construction at IGE and will be functional soon.

Institute of Genetic Engineering is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and degree for the courses offered is also awarded by same. MAKAUT is a UGC-approved university, thus degree courses at IGE are also valid nationally and internationally both.

Yes, IGE is a well-known institute. The institute is accredited by NAAC. The institute was established in 2003 and has successfully completed 20 years of smooth running this year. The institute offers 10 UG and 3 PG-level courses. Courses at IGE are offered with minimal fees which makes studying here affordable.

You should score 200 or above in JAMB to stand a better chance of gaining admission to study Biotechnology. You can still gain admission if you score between 180-190 upward but you do not stand a chance with those who had scored higher.
