Yes, candidates need to clear a national-level entrance examination for BSc admission.

Yes, there is an upper age limit to apply for BSc. Candidates from the General category can be of a maximum of 25 years and the upper age limit for candidates from SC/ST is 28 years.

IHM Bangalore offers four basic programmes such as BSc, MSc, Diploma and craftsmanship certificate. BSc and MSc programmes are offered jointly by NCHMCT and IGNOU. Diploma and craftsmanship certificate courses are offered for one and a half years. The application process for the courses offered at IHM Bangalore is online.

To be eligible for BSc programme, candidates must have passed Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognised board with English as one of the compulsory subjects. Final selection for the same is based on a valid score obtained in NCHMCT JEE.

The students belonging to the SC/ ST category need to pay concessional tuition fees. It also facilitates merit-based scholarships provided by the Government of India, The National Council for Hotel Management (New Delhi), The Oberoi Scholarship and Hotel and Food Service (Mumbai).

The candidates are shortlisted based on their score in National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT JEE) conducted by the NCHM. Thereafter, the students are finally selected on the basis of their performance in the Personal Interview (PI) round.
