To apply for the B.E./B.Tech programme at SJM Institute of Technology (SJMIT), candidates must first qualify through entrance exams like KCET, COMEDK UGET, or JEE Main. After the results, register for the respective counselling process, indicating SJMIT as a preferred choice. Admission is based on merit, entrance exam rank, and seat availability. Candidates should also meet the eligibility criteria of 45% aggregate in PCM (40% for reserved categories). The COMEDK UGET cutoff for admission to SJM Institute of Technology (SJMIT) varies by course and category. For example, in 2022, the closing ranks for the General category were approximately 59,929 for Computer Science and Engineering, 112,062 for Electronics and Communication Engineering, 121,808 for Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 163,370 for Civil Engineering, and 172,965 for Mechanical Engineering.

Getting admission into the SJM Institute of Technology (SJMIT) is moderately competitive. The difficulty largely depends on the entrance exam scores (e.g., KCET, COMEDK UGET, or JEE Main) and the demand for specific courses. Students must meet the eligibility criteria, including a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Class 12 with PCM (40% for reserved categories). Admissions for management quota seats are comparatively less competitive. Preparation for entrance exams and timely application submission increases the chances of securing admission.
