Computer Science and Engineering, CSE (AI & ML), and Electronics and Communication Engineering are among the most competitive branches. These branches usually have higher cut-off ranks due to strong placement demand. Students with higher scores get preference in these courses. Popular tech-focused programmes attract maximum applicants.

Students must first apply through the official TNEA website and complete counselling. After meeting eligibility criteria, candidates should register on the KIT official website. Admission is confirmed only after seat allotment and fee payment. The entire process is entrance and merit-based.

Yes, Diploma holders in relevant engineering fields can apply for direct second-year BTech admission. Selection is based on the percentage obtained in the Diploma examination. This allows students to complete BTech in three years. Lateral entry seats are limited and branch-wise.

BTech cut-off is calculated out of 200 marks. Mathematics carries 100 marks, Physics and Chemistry together carry 100 marks. This combined score determines eligibility and branch selection. Higher cut-off scores increase chances of getting top branches like CSE or AI.

BTech admission is mainly through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling process. Candidates are shortlisted based on Class 12 marks and cut-off scores. After counselling and seat allotment, students must confirm admission by paying the required fees. The process is mostly conducted online.

You must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for admission in BTech. A minimum of 45% marks is required for Open Category and 40% for reserved categories. Admission is based on TNEA cut-off score calculated out of 200. The cut-off includes 100 marks for Mathematics and 100 for Physics + Chemistry combined.
