Madras Institute of Technology course admission is based on entrance test scores and the merit of the academic performance. For admission to BTech, the institute accepts TNEA scores. Admissions of M.Tech programmes are done on TANCET/ GATE, followed by TANCET Counselling.

According to a student's review on Shiksha, IIT Hyderabad is a good college.
Some companies that visit the college are Samsung Research, Adobe Research, and Intel. Wipro and Suzuki provide many internship opportunities. Many consulting companies also come to the college.
The library is very good and very accessible. All classrooms are well-equipped with projectors and screens for easy and good learning.
