The selection criteria for the courses at ITM Vocational University is merit-based for majority of the courses. However, the admission process is entrance-based for the MBA programme. Candidates are required to appear for national level management entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, or the ITM University Entrance Test.
Candidates who clear the cutoff set by the university are called for the next rounds of admission.

ITM Vocational University offers a BSc programme in both full-time and later-entry mode. The full-time mode candidates with twelve years of school education with 55% at Science Stream or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Maths (PCM), and Biology (PCB) as subjects, is qualified for the BSc programme. However, for the BSc later-entry mode candidates can either be 12 passed out or just have a diplom degree in the relevant field.

Graduation in any Discipline, with minimum 50% marks aggregate from any AIU recognised University. ITM accepts the score of CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, State CET or ITM University Entrance exam.

To get a placement at ITM Vocational University, you need to enroll in a particular course offered by the university. The students enrolled in the ITM college become eligible for placement in the final semester of their respective courses. For example, a student in the B.Tech. In Computer Engineering (Data Science) course will become eligible for placement in the fourth year after the final semester exams.
