The University has 10 Constituent colleges, 18 Affiliated colleges, 25 B.Ed. colleges, 02 Engineering colleges, 02 Law colleges and 01 Medical College spread in Dhanbad and Bokaro districts of Jharkhand, with its headquarter at Dhanbad. The University offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses with 21 Postgraduate Departments, which includes the Department of Management, Education, Mass Communication, Alt & Culture, Law, Foreign Languages, Life Science, Computer Science, and Environmental Science & disaster Management. As per AISHE Survey 2017-18, there are 51603 students (Boys: 24018, Girls: 27585) enrolled in 10 Constituent colleges of the University.

Yes, you can apply for the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme at BIT Mesra, Ranchi while waiting for your BCA final year results. If you choose, your access will be temporary until you provide the required documentation. The MCA programme at BIT Mesra is a 2-year postgraduate course in Computer Programming with entrance tests such as Mathematics, Analytical Ability, Computer skills, English Language etc. The total cost of the project will be Rs 5,16,000. The entrance exam is administered by BIT Mesra and is a 2-hour national exam consisting of 120 questions. The test consists of sections on mathematics, analytical ability and logical thinking, computer skills, and English, with a marking system of +4 for correct answers, -1 for incorrect answers and 0 for questions a they have not received an answer
