In order to become a News Reporter, one should pursue a Journalism course.
Education Qualification:
-Pass in Senior Secondary examination (10+2) or equivalent recognized examination in any stream.
Who is eligible to apply:
-The candidates after their 12th class can opt for Bachelors in Journalism or Mass Communication course to become eligible to seek their career as a news reporter.-The candidates with diploma in Journalism are also eligible to become news reporters.
-The candidates after their degree can do their post graduation in Mass Communication or Journalism which provides much better opportunities.
-Courses in Journalism are offered in English, Hindi and regional languages.
Course Curriculum:
-In these courses,candidates are given thorough knowledge in different writing styles in reporting- news, features, reviews etc.
-General knowledge is also imparted on paragraphing, writing an introduction for a lead story or an anchor, script writing for radio or television.
-After this the students are required to undergo an internship with a newspaper or television house to have firsthand knowledge of real reporting scenes.
-After completing the required course, and getting trained practically, a candidate can join either of the following:
* Join a newspaper house
* Join a news agency
* Joining a Government sector in Indian Information Service or different State Government Information Services

-Good general knowledge
-Keen observation, inquisitive temperament
-Good perception and interest in details
-Clear and logical
-A style of writing that is accurate, readable and informed

Becoming a travel journalist can be a fun, exciting, and rewarding career! As with any career, you must have dedication and passion. A good education (formal or informal) complemented with hard work is key.
Key Factors to Consider
You must love to write, especially about travel. Do you have a good idea for a story? Do you possess “communication powers?” Are you able to get people to speak with you? Are you be able to “breathe” life into a story with your words and make it come alive? Can you work under pressure? You may want to consider these before you embark on a journey to become a travel journalist.
Becoming a travel journalist
-Choose the right course of study. You can go for a four-year general journalism degree at a top journalism school, which will certainly open doors, or consider an online course specifically for travel journalism (as well as travel photography) which can open the right doors.
-Decide the type of journalism you would like to pursue such as newspapers, magazines, television, or online.
-Networking, networking, networking! Speak to as many people as you can! Who knows, some of them may become your mentor.
-Get your name out there. Send out resumes to different media outlets across India. This is a great way to build relationships with editors, publishers, producers, directors, etc.

1. Get an education:- While a traditional, formal education is not a requirement to establish a career in photojournalism, becoming a good photographer does require technical expertise.

4. Seek an internship. Decide where you want to work based on your experience and plans for the future. Develop a portfolio that caters to the client's interest and apply for the internship.
5. Ask for feedback. Get feedback from professional contacts and teachers. The constructive criticism can help you develop and improve your photojournalism skills.
6. Stay informed about the latest developments within the field so you can stay competitive and rise above others in your field.
