NMIT Bangalore has seats reserved in its BE programme for candidates who take admission to the programme through different entrance examinations and quotas. The institute additionally has 5% of supernumerary quota seats for meritorious economically weaker students. To be eligible for the admission to B.Tech at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Bangalore, the candidate must pass a 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, or Biology. The minimum marks for the general category are 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in the 12th from a recognized board. 

Candidates are required to appear for one of the following entrance exams: KCET, COMEDK UGET or JET (Jain Entrance Test). 

The selection is done based on entrance exam scores, counselling, document verification, and final selection based on entrance exam scores and other relevant factors.
