Interior designing is a very good option. A lot of institutes are there which are providing this career option in India.
As you are very much particular about Kolkata,
there are many good colleges in Kolkata also. Few that I know are:
J.D Birla Institute,
Glamour School of Fashion and Interiors.

Yes, IMI, Kolkata provides various opportunities to students to get placed. Special classes are also given to students to improve. Rest it is on student's preparation to crack the process.
