Admissions to the Kumaun University BA are merit-based. Candidates must have Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 40% to 50% marks from a recognised board. Eligible candidates can apply directly through the official website of the university. For the admission process, the university releases the merit on the basis of candidates' achieved scores in Class 12 or equivalent.

Kumaun University BA scholarships are offered by the University, UGC as and various departments of the Government. Kumaun University and its affiliated colleges offer a total number of 41,596 seats for BA courses accommodatingly. The university is affiliated with more than 55 colleges. All these colleges offer BA courses in several specialisations, such as Hindi, Economics, Sanskrit, History, Music, etc. To get a seat in BA courses, candidates are required to complete the basic eligibility criteria and must qualify for the merit list released by the university.

The recent median package offered to BA graduates at Kumaun University is going to be released soon. However, as per the NIRG report 2024, the median package offered during Kumaun University UG three-year placements 2023 stood at INR 1.2 LPA. According to the comparison of placement statistics of the years 2022 and 2023, it can be seen that the median package was improved. Therefore it can be expected that in this year too the median package will improve.

No, candidates are not allowed to get direct admissions into BA courses at Kumaun University. Kuman University is a state-public university that does not offer direct admissions to BA courses; candidates are required to qualify for the merit list, which the university releases on the basis of candidates' achieved scores in their higher senior secondary. However, there are chances that some of the university-affiliated colleges offer direct/ management admissions to BA courses. To know this, candidates are suggested to visit the official website of the respective college.

At the filling out the application form, candidates are required to attach several documents. Moreover, at the time of admission, candidates are required to submit some of the important documents for admissions. The required documents are as follows:
- Copy of High school certificate
- Copy of mark sheet of qualifying examination
