In Karnataka, there is a exam called PG-CET for entrance into M.Arch, which is supposedly to be for B.Arch students aspiring to do M.Arch. Even you could try GATE exam for Architecture at all India level.

To pursue M.Arch, having a Bachelors degree in architecture is mandatory.

Hi,
In India, most universities require B.Arch as eligibility for M.Arch so it would be difficult.

Hi, You need to apply to a few firms through mail. You need to be sending your portfolio to them, based on which selection happens if there is a requirement. After that they may have a one on one online interview and negotiation.

Specifically if you are talking about placement after doing B.Arch course , then IIT Kharagpur has no match. people landing up with jobs in MNCs and e-commerce with pacakge as much as 27lakhs !!. Yes you heard me right. IIT KGP often pulls off 100% placement in B.Arch course with companies varying from flipkart/Microsoft to core companies like Total environment and space matrix .
There is a big misconception in India that Architects cannot get placed. But actually it is not the case. The placement stats in IIT roorkee is also impressive. Daar ,VConstruction came there for placements.

Hi Richa,
It is awarded for a course of study that lasts up to five years. In some cases, a B.Arch. can be undertaken after having completed a three-year generalized architectural degree plus an additional two years.
To get admission in B.Arch, you need to score minimum 50% marks in 12th with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Computer Science / Chemistry / Biology / Engineering Drawing and two other subjects. You need to sit for an entrance exam.
Some of the entrance exams in Architecture are :
-National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)
-Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED)
-School of Planning and Arch

Doing M.Arch in Architecture would be a good decision after B.Tech Civil. But there are certain points that you must think before making a final decision.
1. There are lesser job opportunities in architecture but it depends on the college that you are getting admission into. If placement records are sound then nothing to worry about. You may go ahead.
2. Getting job at the start is tough due to less opportunities.
3. Architectural job involves planning and designing and if you good at both of these then only step into this field otherwise you would regret. Also you need to be creative and imaginative.

M.arch is possible only after b.arch or planning. You may go for master's in designing from institutes like NIFT, nid etc. or choose any pg diploma.
