Candidates seeking admission to the M.F.Tech course have to appear in the NIFT entrance exam which is conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology. In addition to the M.F.Tech programme,  NIFT scores can also be used for admission to the B.Des,  M.Des,  B.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses offered by the institute in various locations across      India.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech) programme at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Chennai, you must have a B.F.Tech degree from the NIFT or a B.E/B.Tech degree from any other institute or university recognised by law in India. You can also qualify with an undergraduate degree from any institute or university recognised by law in India, or an undergraduate Diploma of at least three years duration from NIFT/NID.

The eligibility criteria for admission to the Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech) programme at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Kolkata include completion of undergraduate studies at a UGC-recognized college, holding a degree in design such as BFTech, BTech, or BDes from a law-recognized institution in India, achieving a minimum of 55% in the most recent qualifying exam, possessing a B.F.Tech degree from NIFT or similar institutions with at least 55% aggregate, or having an undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT/NID.
