If you want to pursue part time M.Tech courses, you must have completed your BTech in a relevant Engineering discipline and got at least 55 to 60% marks. A lot of colleges give admission on the basis of marks obtained in graduation, while others may need valid entrance exam scores like that of GATE or university-specific exams.
Further, some colleges may also need at least 2 years of work experience and an NOC from the employer for you to pursue the Part time M.Tech for Working Professionals.

There is a lot of confusion among students regarding distance M.Tech learning and part time M.Tech courses for working professionals. To make things easy, the basic difference between the two is that distance M.Tech courses are completely invalid in India as they are not approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and UGC because of multiple reasons. One basic reason is zero practical exposure. Technical programs like M.Tech are meant for the professional world and need technical expertise and advanced skills which is not possible in the remote-learning mode. The M.Tech programs at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad are conducted in an offline, on-campus mode. According to the M.Tech Admission Brochure for Autumn 2025-26, applicants are required to register and apply through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP), and there is no indication of an online mode of instruction

The eligibility criteria of the M.Tech. in Aerodynamics Engineering course of IIAEM Jain University are as follows:
They should have a B.E./B.Tech./AMIE/MAeSI degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Civil, EEE, ECE, Naval Architecture, Automobile, or Metallurgy.
50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to reserved categories) in the qualifying degree.
Admission is based on the Jain Entrance Test (JET) score and performance in a subsequent interview. GATE scores could also be taken into account during the selection procedure.

MIT Academy of Engineering and RSCOE are two colleges/institutes offering full-time M.Tech courses in Pune. MITAOE Pune M.Tech in Computer Engineering is a two-year course comprising six trimesters.
