In 2024, for the Open Category, Computer Science and Engineering ranked 92,618, Electrical and Electronics Engineering had 183,103 spots, Mechanical Engineering came in at 174,121 and Civil Engineering was 173,199. The first part of applying for MCET's B.E./B.Tech courses is to register with TNEA. People who would like to apply online can get the application form from the TNEA website, upload required documents and pay the application fee. Once the merit list is published, selected candidates can participate in counseling to pick the course they prefer at MECT.
