Is it worth to pursue an advanced certificate in print and TV journalism from distance learning in India and why?

There are many aspects of media-related courses and it should be clear to us that distance learning cannot develop the level of skills and competence that regular courses can do. It is possible that one does distance learning studies when a foundational skill-set is already earned.

All these subjects are a part of any competitive exams for government job. So, if you have studied journalism very seriously, you can crack exams, like SSC UPSC BPSC and other civil services exams. So, this is a way that helps you to get a government job. There is no such newspaper organisation functioning under government sector. But, you can get associated with DD channel, Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha channel, Aakashwani stations after gaining deep experience in print media. Which has a better scope and why: print and TV journalism or acting and anchoring?

I would say that print has a better scope because you get job security in the same in which you sit inside an office or you do TV journalism. TV journalism and anchoring has better scope. TV Correspondent or the TV News Anchor is a celebrity and there is no denying that most of the Media Graduates die for this profile only. There are fewer people who will ignore but most of them ask about the salary. This is also an assignment based job where a job may not be possible.

1. Command over Language
2. Flawless Diction
3. Confidence to Face the Audience
4. Eye Contact with the Masses

The paper consists of both subjective and objective questions. Topics include logical reasoning, current affairs, general awareness and the like. Questions involving facts are objective, whereas questions involving description and reasoning are subjective. It is an online only test. To appear for it, fill up the admission form available on the college website (www.sbc.ac.in), after which, the question paper will be emailed to you on the day of the exam. The next exam date is May 13, 2017. The duration of the test is 2 hours. I hope this helps.

Many employers prefer news anchors with a Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, mass communication, or journalism, although communications and similar majors are acceptable. The coursework for these programs is liberal arts-based with a mixture of writing classes and speech classes. If specializations or minors are available in broadcasting, a student may need to complete the applicable classes in order to become familiar with television news and production.
