International students need to fulfill certain entry requirements and submit some necessary documents to get selected by the top universities offering an MIM in UK. Typically, some requirements might be additional as per the programme in the candidate's desired university. However, certain eligibility criteria are considered mandatory by most universities. Some of such criteria are listed below, along with documents required to be submitted during the admission process:

• A bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 60-75% (top universities might ask for 80-90%) or equivalent CGPA
• Proof of English language proficiency, such as IELTS (typically, 6.5 – 7.0), TOEFL (typically, 80 – 110), PTE (typically, 63 -75). The requirements might vary with the university
• Preferably 2-3 years of work experience. Although applicants with a strong profile might be waived from the work experience requirement
• 2-3 letters of recommendation
• Statement of purpose
• Updated CV or resume explaining academic and professional achievements
• A Valid passport and photographs
• Proof of funds

International students can choose to stay and look for jobs after completing an MIM from universities abroad. For that, they would require special work permits and visas that allow them to stay in the country while looking for a job or starting any business relevant to their field, thus expanding their chances of gaining practical experience related to their field while staying in the country. Below are the post-study work permits given by some top countries:

USA: After completion of their degrees, international students can apply for an F-1 visa to participate in an Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the United States. Following OPT, they would be permitted to continue working in the study area for a maximum of 12 months. International students would have an excellent opportunity to acquire practical industrial skills with an OPT, significantly improving their job prospects. However, US Citizenship and Immigration Services must approve foreign students' OPT applications.
UK: Following their studies in the UK, international students are eligible to apply for the Graduate Route Visa, which permits them to remain and work in the UK for a maximum of two years following degree completion. International students, while applying for the Graduate Route visa,  do not mandatorily need to have a job offer, hence making the process easier after graduation.

International students are expected to meet certain basic eligibility criteria, based on which universities admit students each year. While every university has some additional criteria as per its programs, there are certain general criteria that students must make sure to fulfill to strengthen their profiles and increase their chances of admission. Below are some of the general admission requirements by most universities offering MIM programs abroad:

• Bachelor's in Management or a related field

• Overall , i.e., GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent (some universities don't specify the exact GPA needed for the programs, but typically 3.0 out of 4.0 is considered the safest standard GPA to maintain)

• Overall IELTS score of 6.0 or higher / TOEFL score of 80 - 100 or higher

• Good GMAT score (as required by the desired university)

• Statement of Purpose (SOP)

• 2 - 3 Letters of Recommendation (LORs)

• CV / Resume 

• A student study visa and a valid passport 

• Proof of funds, like bank statements 

• Work experience (if applicable)
