MBA Agriculture

Hi Ambika, Well, it is totally depend on you and your managerial skills. Just review your attitude and interest where it has inclination, either it is towards preceding a career as a teacher or how to become a manager in any Agri Business firm. India is a agrarian country and by looking at the demand of agricultural graduates decent job placements will not be a problem. Agriculture is a research oriented programme where you can do a lot of research on soil, vegetable, fruit, floriculture landscaping entomology, plant breeding. Thus, scope is more towards Masters of Science in horticulture. There are three specialisations in Masters of Science horticulture:
1) M.Sc. Horticulture (Fruit Science).
2) M.Sc. Horticulture (Vegetable Science).
3) M.Sc. Horticulture (Floriculture and Landscaping). There are other Agricultural specialisation also:
#1 Agronomy. #2 Plant Breeding. #3 Plant Molecular Bio-technology. #4 Pomology and Olericulture. #5 Entomology, Plant Pathology and Soil Science. Curriculum in LPU is as per the guidelines of ICAR (Indian Council of Agriculture Research) and is designed to train students to understand ways of improving the crop production in a sustainable manner and to provide overall knowledge related to agriculture. The demand for Post-graduates with a degree in agriculture is increasing every day in India and abroad. Course fees for 2 years PG programme is also considerably lower in comparison to other Agriculture colleges while rewarding with good jobs and a better packages. Infact one of LPU student has got the package of Rs 1 Crore per Annum. All the best.

Admission to MBA (AB) Programme: Admission to MBA (AB) programes is made on the basis of combined merit of Written Test conducted by Banaras Hindu University and Group Discussion and Interview conducted by FMS, BHU. Admission notification normally releases during April-May every year. The admission application forms will be sold from the Counter at Controller of Examinations, BHU.
Eligibility criteria: Eligibility: Minimum 50% marks in aggregate at the B.Sc. (Ag.) & allied disciplines OR B.Sc. Home Sc. Or B.Sc. with at least one of the following subjects - Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Bio-Technology, B.Voc (Food Processing & Management) under 10+2+3 Scheme OR A Post Graduate in the above disciplines.
So from above Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) is necessary for MBA (Agribusiness Business Management).
