No, candidates need not register for each round of NEET MDS counselling separately. In case a candidate has registered in the first round, and wishes to participate in the further rounds, then they need not register afresh. They just need to log in and complete the rest of the procedures such as choice filling and locking. Candidates must also note that if they have taken admission based on the seat allotment result of a particular round, they will not be eligible to participate in the further rounds unless they surrender the seat.

Yes, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) states that it is necessary to report to the institute first and then opt for resignation. MCC states, "Candidates willing to upgrade from Round 1 to Round 2 have to report at the allotted institute/college with original documents of round 1 and complete the admission formalities. During the completion of admission formalities, if the candidate wishes to upgrade then he/she has to give willingness for upgradation in the college."

Here are the MDS eligibility criteria at MGR University (Tamil Nadu):
- Qualification: BDS from a DCI-approved institution
- Internship: Completed 1-year compulsory rotating internship by the July 31 of the admission year
- NEET MDS: Valid qualifying score (50% Gen/OBC, 40% SC/ST)
- Registration: Permanent/provisional DCI (Dental Council of India) or State Dental Council registration
Note: First priority will be given to students domiciled in Tamil Nadu. Check trends (cutoff for 2024: ~50-60 percentile for general category).
