Scope- Both branches are core branch of engineering. So, these can't be differing on the basis of scope. Scope is good in both branches. Package - Mechanical is known as evergreen branch of engineering. When it comes to packages, which never goes out of demand. Computer Science engineering is always the most preferred branch of engineering than compared to ECE or mechanical, in terms of better placements, decent salary packages, and wider career prospectives.

Well, if you are thinking for best placements, as per my knowledge BITS Pilani is best. LMN Institute of Technology, Jaipur is public private partnership. JECRC is good, but don't know any placements.

The average salary for the placements is Rs 4 to 4.5 Lacs. This is the only salary package provided through campus selections in colleges. But, if you go for public sector companies through your GATE score, then you will have much more appreciable package. For this year there were about 75% placements from mechanical branch in UVCE. The highest placement was from ECE branch about 92%.50% placement was there from EEE branch. But after going through the figures I found that the placement figures are quite well.

If fee is a constraint for you, then opt for UIT RGPV and it's a decent college too with average placements but to know the exact scenario for faculty and placements get in touch with the current students through social media or in person.

BITS Pilani is one of the premier institute of India. If you want to pursue your Masters from BITS then your decision won't go wrong. Placement is good enough. You will even get a tag name of BITS Pilani which matters a lot. All the best. Placement is good for mechanical too.
