Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training is a new specialised navy academy established in 2018 by MIT ADT University in association with the Indian Navy. While it does not rank among top colleges presently, it has approvals from DG Shipping and AICTE. Its parent MIT ADT University also has low rankings currently. However, the focused naval training and connections with the Navy provide good credibility and prospects. The BTech Marine Engineering programme is the flagship course. Though traditional rankings are low owing to nascency, the niche focus provides potential for future growth and placements in the naval domain.

Admissions to the Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET) are determined by UGC rules, AICTE regulations, and DG Shipping policies. Admission to the full-time MANET BTech (Marine Engineering), BTech (Lateral Entry), and BSc (Nautical Science) programs is determined by the results of the most recent qualifying exam and the IMUCET score. For admission to UG courses, candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with 50% marks.
