Basically a degree is of 6 sem or 36 months and Diploma duration is some thing between 1 year ( 2 sem ) / 12 months to 18 months ( 3 sem ) . Normally a degree has a language subject ( extra ) which is not seen in maximum of the diploma courses , more over surely a degree is having a coverage of more subjects and topics compare to a diploma .
In maximum of the cases we suggest a degree for the candidate who are just joining a course after 12th as they have good time in hand to build a solid career, but many people come to us , who has already done some other courses and not afford to invest 3 years , in such cases we suggest for a Diploma , cost is also a factor, many people cannot afford a degree or 3 years degree , for them also a diploma is an alternative.

After the successful completion of the course you must have a work sample demo which exhibit your skills in diff domains . With that definitely you can get an entry in to the animation/vfx/gaming/cg & film making industry.
About taking such course ,
I would like to share with you , recently due to some changes in UGC rules and conditions etc , many of the institutes has stopped taking admission in distance graduation programme in animation, though they are authorized to service their current students who has already taken the course in past , hence before joining any distance course specially a graduation in animation/vfx or film making at any of the institute be very careful and ask for all information in written with the institute seal and signature .
Many of the renound and good institutes has decided to run their long term courses up to 3 years under their own certification , normally the course content for such courses are also the same , though it might be slightly cheaper compare to a university approved course .
Normally in such cases i suggest all the students to join a long term course certified by the institute itself & simultaneously complete a proper online graduation in any of the common stream like BA / BCOM/ Bsc with proper UGC recognition which helps to build a better career.
