Yes, you can apply for NATA, but mathematics is mandatory.

Yes, this is possible to study without NATA, but in only NITs and IITs and some private college who accepts JEE paper 2 score, not NATA score. But, only less than 10% colleges are in India who accepts JEE paper 2 score and 90% colleges accepts NATA score.

You can get, if you have any reservations, but I think you can't get in good NIT. You can check the cut off of NITs and decide.
