NATA exam is divided into two parts – Drawing Section and Aesthetic Sensitivity Section.
Tips to perform well in the exam:
1. A candidate should analyze up to 20 years of NATA's previous papers, to understand the question patterns. He should keep himself updated with new, existing and old architectural structures in India and around the world by reading newspapers, architecture based magazines, journals and more. The more the candidate knows about architecture, the more are his chances of scoring well.
2. There is no negative marking in the NATA test, so you must attempt all the questions even if you are not 100% sure of an answer. Time management is essential so that you can attempt all questions within the given time frame.

Yes, there is a lot of difference in the syllabus as well as the courses.
Nift is for fashion designing and for other related fields purpose, Nata is solely for architecture.
For NIFT
You study current affairs, English, general maths and drawing abilities which includes designing poster or logo. Something which measures your designing aspects
There are 2 papers, one drawing paper another general ability test.
For NATA
You study architectural awareness, general maths (hardly 2-3 questions are expected), synonyms and antonyms and visualization. The drawing paper includes view, ant's eye view etc. Something which measures your skills in perspective.
There are 2 papers, one drawing paper and another 50 mins online awareness test.

To crack the exam, the preparation requires the right approach along with the right study materials and strategy. Plan your preparation after knowing your strengths and weaknesses. You need to be organized and follow a time-table. Focus on the method of solving the problems. Spend the initial few months in revising the basic concepts learnt in standard 9th and 10th.Ensure that you study concepts like algebra, mechanics extensively as they also form the basis of several other topics. NATA is designed in such a manner that prior tutelage is not required. COA-NIASA is aware that candidates will have no or minimal knowledge of architecture. NATA examination which consist of two parts, measures aptitude of the candidate in his / her aesthetic sensibilities (3D visualisation, logical understanding, etc.) and drawing skills.

Yes, NATA is important for architecture because NATA is conducted by the Council of Architecture and most of the institutes /colleges accept only NATA scores.
NATA is an entrance exam for admissions to 5 year B.Arch. degree course offered by all institutes / schools / colleges of Architecture in India (including Govt., Govt-aided, Private Unaided, University Depts., Deemed Universities, etc.).
NATA is a test which only tests drawing and 3D interpretation skills and even students from humanities or commerce background can answer the exam.The exam does not test mathematics or science knowledge.

JEE Main Paper 2 is conducted for admissions to B.Arch/B.Planning courses at NITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. JEE Mains paper 2 is based on both drawing and maths skills , it has a math section (level is same as the jee mains paper 1) and a sketching and 3D interpretation section. The rank you obtain in paper 2 is independent of the paper 1 rank. The exam, like the paper 1 is conducted by CBSE and helps you secure an admission in SPAs ( School of Planning and Architecture) and the B.Arch courses in NITs. ( SPA Delhi is considered the best in the country).
NATA is a compulsory Exam conducted by the Council of Architecture and most of the institutes /colleges accept only NATA scores. NATA is a test which only tests drawing and 3D interpretation skills and even students from humanities or commerce background can answer the exam.The exam does not test mathematics or science knowledge. The exam is conducted by the Architecture's Association and it helps you secure admission recognized by them and you need to apply to different institutes independently with the NATA scores. CEPT in Ahmadabad is one of the good college which accepts NATA scores.
