The selection process for NIT Durgapur's Integrated BSc + MSc course is entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to the five-year, integrated course must appear for JEE (Main). After appearing for the exam, they must register for JoSAA/CSAB counselling for seat allocation. Based on their rank in JEE (Main), a merit list of shortlisted candidates will be released. Those who manage to get shortlisted must confirm their admission by submitting the prescribed fee.

NIT Durgapur and NIT Patna offer Integrated MSc course lasting five years. The total tution fee for the five-year programme at NIT Durgapur is INR 75,000. The tuition fee for the Integrated MSc programme at NIT Patna is INR 6.25 Lacs for five years. Hence, it can be said that NIT Durgapur is more economical than NIT Patna for the Integrated MSc course. In total, NIT Durgapur has 19 seats for the Integrated (BSc + MSc) course. The institute offers an Integrated MSc in Chemistry programme.
