Yes, you can go for merchant navy after class 10th. But, if you are married, you should not opt for merchant navy job, as it is not a permanent job. You can be fired any time. Merchant navy is a private job and the age criteria is between 17 years to 21 years.

AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is an entrance test for aspirants willing to join Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officer in Flying, Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-Technical). The examination is conducted twice a year in February and August. The test is conducted all across India by the Indian Air Force. The admission procedure for B.Sc. In Nautical Science is not as simplistic as other undergraduate courses:
* First thing would be to shortlist a maritime institute or college that matches your location, financial capabilities, and other relevant preferences. * Next step would be to clear the entrance exam (if any) as conducted by the university or college. * The test is followed by a string of medical tests and psychometric examinations to assess the candidate's physical feasibility for the course. * Once the candidate clears all the tests, he or she may need to undergo a brief pre-sea training programme before admission is confirmed.

Only Anglo Eastern Maritime Training Centre has 100% Placement record for TR ETO. Rest, all DG Shipping approved Maritime Training Institutes really don't have anything much with regards to placements.
