According to Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) rules, the security deposit amount is forfeited in two cases:
1: When a student who has been allotted a seat in the 2nd or subsequent rounds does not join the respective institution or vacates their medical seat due to any reason.
2: When a student provides incorrect information during registration, causing the admissions authorities to cancel their seat. Also, candidates do not need to report to or join the allotted college for Round 1 as there is an option of a free exit. On upgrade of a seat in the second round, the earlier allotted seat in Round 1 will automatically be cancelled if a candidate has not joined the allocated college. Therefore, the security amount will not be forfeited if you use the option of a free exit and want a seat upgrade in Round 2.

Based on previous year's trends, admission to a government medical college with a score less than 400 in NEET UG is difficult, even with the Gujraat state quota for the OBC category for the MBBS course. Similarly, getting into a private college for MBBS generally requires you to score more than 300 marks in the NEET UG. You may be admitted into numerous private medical colleges with 488 marks, according to the Maharashtra CET's previous year cutoff list.
