No, the institute does not offer any facility that offers direct admission to any of the courses offered at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) (formerly known as Netaji Subhas Instiute of Technology).10+2 pass candidates are eligible to apply. Admission is granted on the basis of score in WBJEEE/ JEE Main or any other equivalent National or State level entrance test followed by counselling session organized by Central Selection Committee. The admission to BBA and BCA courses is done through merit.

All the 1st & 2nd generation IITs, top 10 NITs, BITS, DTU, NSIT, NSUT are tier-1 Engineering colleges. COEP (and VJTI) is top notch state level college but not tier 1. It is tier-2 Engineering College since except Placements and Alumini Network all other aspects are not at par with tier-1 colleges. A
