NIT Patna BTech Mechanical Engineering Opening and Closing rank was 30791 and 46025 respectively during the last year cutoff release. This was for All India General category. Cutoff are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state.

The cut off ranks have changed from 22266 to 21654 for OBC, 79063 to 56352 for SC, 1884 to 70929 for ST, 18577 to 18303 for EWS, 415 to 292 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
