F1 students are eligible to work on-campus as long as they maintain their immigration status. Employment is limited to a total of 20-hours per week when the university is in session. In vacation periods, students can work 20+ hours. Off-campus work can also be done but prior authorization has to be taken from International Programs Office at UMass Amherst.
