To be eligible for Bachelor of Arts BA at Manipal Center for Philosophy & Humanities Bangalore students must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board. Although if results have not been declared provisional admission will be provided. Also there will be a selection process for admission which includes evaluation of educational qualification, a personal essay and an interview. Students are required at least 45% to 50% marks in Class 12 in any stream from a certified board of India to pursue admisison to BA Philosophy courses. The eligibility criteria and 12 Class percentage may vary for different colleges for BA Philosophy admisison.
The admissions to BA Philosophy programme is mostly based on 12 Class merit but some top-ranking colleges may require additional entrance exam qualification criteria for accepting students.
CUET UG is the most common entrance exam accepted in most colleges in India for admission to their BA programme in any specialisation like Philosophy.

To be eligible for the MA in Philosophy at Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit & Ancient Studies University (KBVSASU) in Assam, candidates must have:
- A Major/Honours degree in Philosophy with at least 40% marks in aggregate, or
- A BA General/Pass degree with a minimum of 45% marks in Philosophy and overall aggregate?
