It is always better to go for a degree course. It is generally very difficult to get admitted to a higher degree after only a diploma course.
According to industry professionals, a degree holder is preferred over a diploma holder in the same field.

A professional photographer may work independently or under the supervision of others. One may also work as a freelancer.
