If you are aspiring to be a pilot, then it will not be of any major use, because you will be flying in an environment where English will be majorly used for almost all the communication. Radio Telephony and ATC communications will require usually English and you may also communicate in French, but only when you fly in French airspace. Now, if you are aspiring to be a cabin crew, then French will be helpful, because cabin crew directly interact with the passengers and many passengers who are of French origin would not know English. PPL is an intermediate stage before CPL. Although it is not a compulsory one. Usually, aspirants do fly all 200 hours (as required for issue of CPL) on SPL itself. You may get PPL issued at an intermediate stage where you complete all it's requirements as decided by DGCA. It shall although might not be of any major use to you. As most of the air carriers require their pilots to hold a CPL.

The test will happen in July.
The topper who clears all the stages of the competition will be sponsored a Commercial Pilot License, worth Rs. 25 Lakh. The top 120 students in the selection process will be awarded other scholarships.
A written aptitude test Will be held in seven major cities till the last week of July.
The top 200 test takers selected from this exam will be invited for an interview.

1) Avex notes. http://www.avex.co.za.
2) FTC questions.
Avex questions are a bit simple. With FTC, you get to the exam and recognise the exact questions. Its always nice to work it out.
FTC question's use a lot of mock exams. I would recommend doing them until you get tired of it.
