Both practical assessment alongside written evaluation make up the entrance exam syllabus for B.A. (Hons.) in Vocal Music at Rabindra Bharati University which will be used for 2024-2025 admission. The written exam contains fifty multiple-choice questions distributed among Music Theory with twenty questions, Indian Classical Music with fifteen questions, Western Music with ten questions and five questions regarding General Knowledge. The vocal skills competence of candidates is assessed through the practical evaluation which includes testing their voice proficiency in raga, taal and swar. The complete examination duration amounts to two hours with a total mark value of 100 distributed according to 50 marks for written and 50 marks for practical assessment. Candidates must pay INR 200 for application fees while the examination takes place in July or August.

The admission requirement for Rabindra Bharati University, M.A. in Sociology is rather standard and normally require the students who want to be admitted for the program to score a minimum of 50% in Undergraduate degree in Sociology or any other related field. SC/ST/OBC category students need least 45% percentage to get an entry for the examination.
