RBI Assistant Eligibility

The applicant needs a bachelor's degree in any field with at least 50% of the required credits. It is also sufficient for candidates who are SC, ST, or PWD to pass their classes in order to apply for the exam. A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% in any subject is required of candidates. People with qualifying grades from SC, ST, or PWD backgrounds, however, may apply. The age range for applicants to the RBI Assistant 2024 position is 20 to 28.The main exam, LPT, and preliminary exam are the steps in the selection process for an RBI assistant. Candidates are chosen in the end depending on their performance on the LPT and main test. The preliminary exam scores are not taken into account while creating the final merit list.

Any graduate candidate who are between 20 and 28 years can apply for the exam. Candidates born not earlier than 02/09/1995 and not later than 01/09/2003 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply. Relaxation in the upper age limit of five years will be provided to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) candidates, three years to OBC, 10 years to PWD, 10 years to widows/divorced women/ women judicially separated who are not re-married, five years to candidates domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period January 1, 1980, to December 31, 1989, etc. Candidates should be proficient in the local language of the state/UT they are applying to.

Yes, candidates who are in their final semester or year of graduation are eligible to apply provisionally. However, if they are asked to come in for an interview, they must provide documentation that they meet the age, educational, and language proficiency requirements for RBI Assistants as well as proof that they have completed the graduation requirements. As of September 1, 2023, candidates shall be between the ages of 20 and 28. Only those who were born on or before February 9, 1995, and January 9, 2003, inclusive, are eligible to apply. As per government regulations, candidates who fall under the SC, ST, PWD, or Ex-Servicemen categories are entitled for an age relaxation.

Selected candidates will be initially posted in RBI’s Office within the Recruitment Zone for which they had applied. However, they are liable to be transferred in administrative exigencies to centres grouped and classified into West, South, North and East Zone offices. RBI Assistant receives a basic pay of INR 20,700 along with certain increments in salary. The pay scale is INR 20700-1200 (3)-24300-1440 (4) – 30060-1920 (6)-41580-2080 (2)-45740-2370 (3)-52850-2850-55700 (20 years). Along with the RBI Assistant salary, candidates are entitled to various allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, and Transport Allowance. These allowances are included in the salary.     

The educational qualification for RBI Assistant has been given below for the candidates. The candidates who want to appear for the RBI Assistant exam must fulfill the educational qualification eligibility criteria for the RBI Assistant exam:

a)The candidates who want to appear in the RBI Assistant exam must have completed graduation

b) The candidates have to secure the minimum percentage to appear for RBI Assistant exam

Candidates must have passed graduation from any discipline with 50 per cent. This percentage is relaxed for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Such candidates must have passed graduation with pass class. Candidates must have the knowledge of computers.
