Failing in 2 subjects is not a good thing and nothing can be done right now. First of all, reappear in next year exam and clear all your subjects with good marks and then try to choose your field thereafter.

Hi there,
Well, some of the colleges provide admission to students from Maharashtra only. Do check their eligibility before applying to a college. However, mostly you can get admission in graduation courses based on your percentage. Domicilie may not matter much in some colleges.

To take admission in any NIT, you must score good marks in JEE Mains Paper 1. Without clearing JEE Mains, you cannot take admission in any NIT and 12th marks do not affect your admission in NIT.

Yes, you are eligible for JEE Mains paper in the year 2019, because you can give exam 3 times in a row after completing class 12th. You won't be able to get a seat in IIT, because you don't have 75% marks, which is the criteria for JEE Advanced. (For IIT).

Well, you should decide it by your own. If you are confident that you will clear the JEE next year, then only you should drop. Otherwise, don't waste your time and get admission in engineering college. There are so many private college, which are also providing best education and placements as well. So, no need to be worry about getting IITs or NITs. All the best.
