To enroll for any UG or PG programs, it is mandatory for the student to appear and clear the JET exam. The qualification required to apply for the programme is a minimum of 50% marks in the respective bachelor's degree from a recognised university.While "easiness" is subjective, admittance to SPJIMR is often difficult due to the institute's high requirements. Prospective students can boost their chances of acceptance with determination, a solid application, and sufficient preparation, even if it remains a tough procedure.SPJIMR does not have any quota, management or otherwise. The assessment of an applicant is on the basis of his/her profile, the qualifying entrance scores and the interview process. SPJIMR communicates directly with all the shortlisted candidates.

SPJIMR shortlists candidates for its flagship programme i.e. PGDM based on their profiles. The profiles are evaluated, and the applicants are sorted into two groups: Profile-based and Profile-cum-Score-based. In the first phase, candidates shortlisted based on their profile are called for a Personal Interview (PI). However, the second phase is held after the availability of entrance test scores. That means, the institute accepts entrance exam scores as well for admission. The accepted entrance exam for PGDM is CAT/ GMAT. For admission to FPM, aspirants need to appear for Research Aptitude Test followed by a personal interview round. The institute shortlists candidates for admission to GMP based on scores of the candidates in CAT, GMAT, GRE, etc. 

Getting admission into SP Jain PGDM programme requires candidates to follow some steps.

• The first step is to register for the PGDM programme by paying an application fee of INR 2,000.
• Second step is evaluation of entrance exam score. Candidates need to qualify CAT/ GMAT for admission to PGDM. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round. Candidates can check out CAT preparation tips to score well in exam. 
• The final selection is based on academic performance, work experience, entrance exam score of the candidates.

Aspirants completing all the steps can get into PGDM programme of SPJIMR. The institute follows a simple process of offering admission. However, aspirants must score decent to get admission.

SPJIMR’s GMP application forms are currently open for January 2021 intake which has three Partner school in US and one Partner School in Europe. These forms need to be submitted via the links provided in the application portal of the institute. The form is quite detailed and will take some time to complete. It is inclusive of questions around candidates’ academic performance, work experience (if any), hobbies & interests and will include candidates’ preference for the partner schools. It is possible to select a maximum of three partner schools in the form and the interviews take place at SPJIMR Mumbai campus. The interviews are inclusive of two rounds; first, one conducted by SPJIMR is an elimination round. The second round is conducted by the individual partner schools as per students’ preferences. Each school will conduct its own separate interview and shortlisted candidates are informed via email.
