SAP (Systems, Applications & Products) is Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software that connects all parts of a business into one system like finance, HR and also manufacturing.

SAP Materials Management (MM) is a specific module within SAP that handles entire supply chain - from purchasing raw materials to inventory tracking and vendor payments making sure right goods are available at right time and cost.

SAP can be beginner-friendly when starting out. The basics deal with navigation and functionalities. But once you move up for SAP certifications and exams in your domain, you will need to spend some months to learn SAP.

Not all SAP courses need knowledge of coding. The proprietary programming language of SAP is ABAP, that is short for Advanced Business Application Programming. This is used for customising and developing applications within SAP S/4HANA. And those who are developers looking for SAP courses will need to learn it. Other than that, the other modules like FICO or similar do not require coding language.

There are no special requirements to access openSAP offerings with its Microlearning modules and Podcasts. You just have to register using the respective portals. On SAP Learning, you will have to choose an annual subscription. There are free learning journeys as well. But some openSAP courses will require some basic knowledge of the SAP ecosystem.

openSAP has Microlearning and Podcasts. They are yet to be transferred to SAP Learning. Currently, you can access these two individual platforms of openSAP.

openSAP had the traditional MOOC structure, while SAP Learning is more modular with simulations. The learning is more immersive in SAP Learning but does not have discussion forums like on openSAP. The former platform also provided a Record of Achievement, while the latter does not with many courses.
