Besides the admission through the TNEA counseling process for merit-based admissions, Saranathan College of Engineering has a very limited option of direct admission through its management quota. Management seats are in turn merit-based, but students who are not likely to get seats through TNEA can get admitted through such an option. A specified percentage of seats for a college are reserved for direct admissions under the government and Anna University guidelines.

Though Santhan College of Engineering offers various scholarships, it does not offer a 100% scholarship to all the students. Scholarships and other financial aid are provided to the students based on their merit. These generally cover a percentage of the tuition fees. Apart from these, government schemes provide other assistance to the eligible candidates who belong to weaker economic backgrounds or fall in specific social categories to offset a part of the tuition costs.
