 Mobile phones are generally not allowed in the academic and clinical areas of the Government School of Nursing, Kannur, in line with the policies of most nursing institutions in Kerala and India. 

• Strict Prohibition in Academic Areas: The use of mobile phones is typically strictly prohibited during classes, practical sessions, labs, and in libraries.
• Zero Tolerance in Clinical Settings: Using mobile phones during hospital duty or clinical practice is a major disciplinary violation due to patient confidentiality, safety protocols, and the need for complete focus.
• Disciplinary Action: Violations usually result in the immediate confiscation of the mobile phone and may involve fines, suspension, or other stringent disciplinary action by the college management.
• Hostel Rules: Policies regarding mobile phone use within hostels can sometimes be more flexible, but restrictions may apply to certain times or areas to maintain a conducive study environment.

• Clinical/Duty Hours: Usage in clinical areas is a major professional violation due to patient confidentiality and the need for focus. Students are not permitted to use personal phones during duty.
• Hostels: Rules vary. Some hostels allow phone usage within specified time slots and areas (e.g., outside of study hours), while others may require phones to be submitted to the warden.
• Consequences: Violations often lead to confiscation of the device, fines, or other disciplinary actions, including suspension.
