The eligibility criteria for the MCA degree programme at CMR University generally include the following:
1. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH candidates) from a recognised university.
2. Candidates should have studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects in their 10+2 or at the undergraduate level.

In CMR University at Bangalore, they provide an MCA admission based on following criteria
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum percentage of 50% (In case the candidate is of SC/ST caste - 40% in the minimu requirement)
- Mathematics level - 10+2 / Graduation Level
- Must attempt PGCET Examination or any other preferable examinations to get a seat at the MCA Postgraduate degree at this University
