Yes you can apply through general category, but the main thing is that the DU cut-off percentage is very high for general category as compare to OBC. In addition to that I also SEE some colleges closed their admission after first or second list for general category. But that is not the case with OBC. So in short chances of getting admission is very high if you choose OBC category in comparison to general category.

The eligibility criteria is B.Sc. In Home Science or B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics. So in my opinion Food Science and QC is a part of home Science so you can be eligible for the asked course.
