Admissions to SMIT MSc programmes are open early, and students are encouraged to apply early since the institute has limited seats. Applicants can apply before appearing for their final exams. The admissions committee will take into account the marks of previous years/exams in processing the applications. Applicants who receive offer letters can join with a provisional admission and submit their results later. To retain their admission, students must have received a minimum of 55%.

If we compare the two universities on their MBA programme we will see that Sikkim University has a more affordable MBA programme than SRM University, Sikkim. On the other hand, admission into Sikkim University MBA programme takes place through the CUET-PG entrance exam. Candidates applying for either of the universities can make their decision as per the fees that they are ready to pay for their MBA or according to the entrance exam that they want to give for admission into the programme.

Yes, ICFAI University Sikkim does provide seat reservation for students belonging to the state of Sikkim. The university reserves at least 25% of each course's intake for students falling under the  above-mentioned category. Seats that remain unfilled after the special reservation may then be filled up by those belonging to the Open Category. Interested students can visit the official website of the university for more details about ICFAI Sikkim seat reservation
