The Reading Comprehension section of the SLAT exam aims to test the ability of candidates to comprehend intermediate to advanced level understanding of the English . Language. Thus, the questions asked in the section are related to a moderate to intermediate level of English . Passage-based questions are asked in the sections. These passages are generally segments of articles from newspapers like "The Hindu, " "Times of India, " and other main newspapers in India. To excel in the Reading Comprehension section of the SLAT candidates need to increase their understanding of English . Vocabulary, tense, and sentence structures, which can help them understand the exam passages easily.

The total marks for SLAT 2023 were 60. Objective questions of 60 marks were asked as multiple-choice questions in the exam. There were five sections in the SLAT 2023 question paper, namely, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. The SLAT exam day guidelines are available on the admit card of the SLAT exam. These guidelines or instructions are ascertained by the SET exam authority. As per the SLAT exam day instructions, candidates must bring a colour printout of their SLAT admit card along with a valid photo ID proof on the examination day. A black and white printout will not be accepted. They must paste their colour passport size photo on the admit card. The signature of the candidates on their respective admit cards is mandatory. All candidates are advised to report to the exam centre the latest by 7:30 AM and occupy their seats by 8:30 AM because the SLAT exam starts at 9:00 AM. A candidate must take the SLAT exam at the centre allotted to him or her. Taking tests from other test centres will not be allowed for him or her.
