You can pursue PhD in Social Work after completing MA Social Work or Master of Social Work course. You can also apply for this course even if you have pursued a master's level degree in another discipline in several colleges. Make sure that you have scored more than 50% marks in master's degree. Colleges may set higher marks cut off so having a good academic record can help your secure admission in your preferred college. You can apply for the course when you are in the final year of your master's degree or after completing the course.

PhD in Social Work course is a doctorate level degree that you can pursue after completing a master's degree either in the same field or in different discipline. As you may already know that this is a research based degree and there is no fixed duration to pursue this course unlike undergraduate or postgraduate level courses. You can pursue this course in regular mode. There are a few colleges in which you can pursue PhD in Social Work course in distance mode.

No, if the candidate has done a Bachelor of Social Work, its not difficult. However, a candidate applying for Master of Social Work needs to understand the theoretical and practical part of the course. The course involves plenty of fieldwork as well so candidates have to be dedicated in order to gain experience in the field. The difficulty of an MSW programme is determined by a variety of factors, including your prior academic background, your personal strengths and weaknesses, and the exact programme you pick. However, MSW programmes are generally regarded as difficult.

Admission to B.Sc. in Psychology at Madras School of Social Work is not done based on the scores obtained in any entrance exam. To be eligible for the course, the candidate must have passed class 12 in a relevant stream from a reputed board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
