There are about 800+ best MSW colleges. Of these, 443 colleges are privately owned, 176 are government-owned, and semi-government institutions own 84 institutes. Some of the best MSW colleges in India include Amity University Noida, IGNOU, Christ University, University of Lucknow, LPU, and Loyola College, etc.

The fee for a Certificate in Social Work can vary depending on the institution, but here are some examples: 

 

TISS Mumbai: INR 30,000–50,000 

 

JNU: INR 10,000–20,000 

 

Jamia Millia Islamia: INR 20,000–30,000 

 

IGNOU: INR 1,500 for the Certificate in Social Work and Criminal Justice System (CSWCJS) 

 

Social work courses cover theoretical concepts and fieldwork related to society, psychology, and management. Some universities that offer social work courses include IGNOU, Christ University, Banaras Hindu University, Loyola College, and Delhi University.

At the PG level, Rani Channamma University Belgaum, Karnatka provides a 2 years Master of Social Work course to the students. Distance BA in Social Work and Online BA in Social Work are the same course offered in different modes of education. In a distance or correspondence BA in Social Work course you can appear directly for semester exams without attending regular classes. Though in some colleges you may have to attend seminar classes. In online BA in Social Work you will be attending live online lectures or learning through recorded lectures. Your semester exams will also be conducted in online mode

BA in Social Work is an undergraduate level degree in Arts with Social Work as a specialisation. This course is usually pursued by candidates who have completed Class 12 in Art stream but it is open to students from all streams. Those students who have completed qualifications equivalent to Class 12 can also pursue this course.

Yes you can pursue BA in Social Work course after retirement from government service. This is because there is no maximum or minimum age limit to pursue this course. You can pursue this course at any age but make sure that you satisfy other eligibility parameters such as academic qualifications, marks criteria and appearing or passed criteria.
