A total of six M.Tech courses are offered at SoET, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, i.e., Petroleum, Electrical, Nuclear Science & Technology, Energy Systems, Chemical Engineering and Energy and Environment Management.The admission process is conducted in two phases. Phase one is for candidates having Qualified and valid GATE Score) and Phase two is for GATE / non-GATE candidates.

Candidates who have complete a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate or CPI/ CGPA of 5.5 in 10 point scale in the qualifying degree in relevant subjects can apply for SoET PDEU M.Tech course. The subject requirement varies specialisation-wise for M.Tech programme. Aspirants applying for M.Tech must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at later stages of admission.

SoET Pandit Deendayal Energy University offers two-year M.Tech programme divided into four semesters. The school offers M.Tech in six specialisations, namely Environmental, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical, etc. The admission to M.Tech programme will be based on GATE score. Non-GATE candidates can also get admission based on their performance in the personal interview round.

SoET PDEU admission to M.Tech course is based on GATE score. Candidates who have not qualified GATE are shortlisted based on their performance in the personal interview round. Phase-I of the admission is for GATE qualified candidates. Non-GATE-qualified candidates can participate in Phase-II of the admission.
The university prepares a merit list for GATE qualified and non-GATE qualified candidates based on performance in personal interview round and GATE score. Once selected, candidates need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
