No, not at all.

Hostel is never compulsory at any college or institutes. If you want, you can stay outside in hostels and PGs as well.

It totally depends on student and their caregivers whether they want their ward to be in college hostel or somewhere outisde.

There are various PGs and hostels also available around campus.

"Initial days were synonymous with 10+ hours of screen time because you were added to multiple WhatsApp groups. There was a WhatsApp group for everything, state-wise groups, city-wise groups, sports groups- you name it, and there was a group for it. Everyone was excited to know more about their batchmates; late-night video calls were the only way to do it, so we made the most out of it.
