Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, only considers TANCET percentile score. TANCET actual score is calculated by allotting 1 mark each for the correct response and deducting 1/3 mark for each incorrect response. The actual score can be converted into a percentile score after evaluating the total test takers with an actual score that is less than a particular test taker. For example, Mohan has an actual score of 59 marks, and 95% of the total test takers secured an actual score below 59. In such a case, the percentile score of Mohan will be 95. TANCET scores are valid for a period of one year. Candidates aspiring for admission in 2025-26 exam session can only use the TANCET 2025 scores for admission. Candidates who wish for an MBA Admission in any of the TANCET participating colleges in 2026-27 batch must appear for TANCET 2026. Irrespective of the 2025 score, DTE Tamil Nadu will not consider the TANCET 2025 scores for 2026 admission. Similarly, candidates planning to apply for MBA Admission in 2026-27 batch, must apply for the TANCET 2026 exam.
