As for now, Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology has begun having a strong alumni network flourishing in many fields. Even though the individual names are not advertised many do join reputed organizations like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant and Infosys etc. Some of them have gone for post graduate studies in reputed universities and others have gone for business in which many have opted for IT, engineering, and manufacturing industries. Thus, alumni meets are conducted in the college to acknowledge their efforts and help motivate present learners.

Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology provides the admission qualifying standard or cutoff marks of the respective course category. TNEA counseling and the number of seats available decide the cutoff for B.E/B.Tech generally lies between 110-140 for the general category. Hence for SC/ST and OBC and other reserved categories, the cutoff marks vary from 85 to 120. Passing standards also differ annually depending on some ways like the student ratio, desire, accomplishment, and number of openings for any college or university course.

Yes, it is possible to secure Management Seat in Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology directly through the management quota. For this, you are required to fulfil minimum admission criteria which are qualifying 10+2 examination with the percentage of marks as specified by various B.E/B.Tech institutions in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There are openings for candidate's direct admission under management seats for the candidates who could not get a seat in TNEA counseling, but the fee will be comparatively higher.

Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology have the concept of scholarship for merit and for those who are in need but they do not offer full scholarship to all the students. Scholarships are offered to first rankers and second rankers, economically backward students, and those students, who belong to the Tamil Nadu State Government Scholarships. The percentage of the scholarship that a student receives will depend on % their qualifications and % of the scholarship awarded for the scholarship programme in question which can take between 25% to 75%.

The admissions to the B.E./B.Tech programmes in Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology are through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) every year using marks obtained in Standard Xll. However, students can also opt for management seat where students can directly get admitted without having to take part in TNEA counseling process. Management quota admitted students have to fulfill certain academic standards; the fee may be slightly higher than that of TNEA.

The fee structure of the courses offered at Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology also differs from one programme to the other. For all the B.E/B.Tech courses annual charges for the general category students are between INR 50,000 to INR 75,000 M.E. / M.Tech courses cost between Rs 60,000 and Rs 80,000 per year. However, fee can be slightly differ from course to course or from category to another one as well as hostel charges and some additional facilities.

The minimum qualification to attend counselling and get into Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology, for the purpose of UG courses is 10+2 with Science stream and mathematics, and the candidate should have scored not less than 50% in physics, chemistry and mathematics put together.
